Monday kicked off our week of one-off events at the Broomhill Art Flat with a landscape drawing and painting class.
Local artist Grace Donnelly led participants in a class of watercolour painting techniques, using local scenery as inspiriation. They started with a tester sheet of 8 rectangles, where they practised different scenes that could utilise their skills. Scenes they looked at included a clear sky, an atmospheric sky, trees, sunset and pattern techniques using a white crayon or wax.
Participants got to spend the final part of the workshop on a larger scale piece using clingfilm to add texture to rocks on a seascape.
