A Broomhill Night

On Friday 23rd of February we had our long awaited event, A Broomhill Night, at the Broomhill Community Hub with performances from community members and James Grant, as well as work exhibited by classes from the Broomhill Art Flat

Attendants were able to see a preview of the mural that’s soon to be placed on Ann Street, on the wall of a carpark, as well as films made by RIG Arts documenting projects undertaken since conception, and the acoustic panel coverings made for the Broomhill Community centre showing elements of Broomhill’s heritage, were on show.  There was also a preview of the upcoming Broomhill Heritage Trail!

The Stained glass piece made in collaboration with artist Keira McLean and Broomhill Community members was also on display for the first time! This is soon to be installed in the Broomhill Community Garden.

The main event though, was the performances by James Grant and members of the local community, performing songs that they collaborated on. You can listen to recordings of these songs here.
