We’ve got a couple of weeks of Broomy’s Bairns to catch up with! Two weeks ago our RIG Arts Assistant Louise, was kind enough to share a book with the kids – that she wrote and illustrated!
Tears of a Ceasg follows the quest of a Ceasg (Scottish Mermaid) and a Lighthouse Keeper as they journey from Port Glasgow to Gourock, encountering a ghastly beast lurking in the River Clyde. However, all is not what it seems!
It was a delight for the kids to listen to a story read to them by their friend Louise, knowing that it was her very own book! After reading through the story, the kids had the chance to create their own illustrations for the book.
In yesterday’s Broomy’s Bairns, we were back looking at our upcoming Broomy’s Bees Garden in Broomhill. We want some more ceramic tiles made by the children to go into the garden, so we’ve got them thinking about their designs for the tiles to put into practise over the next couple of weeks.
The Broomy’s Bairns Art Classes are every Wednesday at the Broomhill Art Flat, with the first session starting at 3.30pm, until 4.30pm, then the next session starting at 4.40pm, and finished up at 5.30pm.
If you would like to register your interest for a child to attend the Broomy’s Bairns workshops, please call RIG Arts on 01475 649359 or email info@rigarts.org.
