In last week’s Broomy’s Bairns Art Class, we got the kids making beautiful bumble bees out of paper plates!
We made these by simply folding a paper plate in half, and decorated it with stripes using chalk pens, and then added the essential eyes, wings and stingers!
Using this as a platform, we spoke to the kids about what they knew about bees and their importance to our surviving civilisation.
We also finally got the beautiful clay tiles the kids made, all packed up to go to Glasgow Ceramics Studio to be fired and glazed! The tiles will eventually be placed in our upcoming Broomy’s Bees Garden, in Broomhill.
The Broomy’s Bairns Art Classes are every Wednesday at the Broomhill Art Flat, with the first session starting at 3.30pm, until 4.30pm, then the next session starting at 4.40pm, and finished up at 5.30pm.
