Making Bunting

We’ve had kids across the board in Broomhill making bunting for the Broomy’s Bees Garden, from the weans in our Wednesday Broomy’s Bees Art Club, to the P6/7’s on both Whinhill and St. Patrick’s primary schools.

Large pieces of fabrics used to make banners for a Broomhill Fun Day were cut down into smaller squares. These were then decorated with fabric paints and pens and then embroidered by RIG artists and local residents to enhance the detail and transform abstract designs into flowers and bumble bees.

The pieces will be stitched back to back so a different design is seen on each side, then strung together and displayed in the Art Flat, being brought out to decorate the Broomy’s Bees and Broomy’s Butterflies garden for special events.
