Art Flat Welcomes MSP Paul Wheelhouse

RIG Arts were pleased to welcome MSP and Minister for Business, Innovation and Energy Paul Wheelhouse, along with local councillors, employees of River Clyde Homes and tenant and residents to the Broomhill Art Flat in early December for the opening of the new biomass boiler.

Everyone was invited to look around the art flat, find out more about RIG Arts work in Broomhill including our Recycke Upcycle project which is working to change attitudes to recycling and upcycling, and hear initial speeches.

Paul Wheelhouse was presented by Jason Orr, Creative Director at RIG Arts with a print depicting the local area by RIG freelance photographer and tutor Louis Pastore.

It was a delight to witness so many visitors enjoying the Art Flat and the art work, including our bespoke upcycled textile banner, vibrant kid’s art work, and original sculptures by local residents made in the workshops with Siobhan Morison.

This is bringing us one step closer to marking Broomhill firmly on the map as a leader in environmental and creative innovation.
